Welcome to my Waldorf Homeschooling Journey

Hello! I'm Mariam, a dedicated Waldorf (ish) homeschooling parent, teacher and mentor based in southwest London. My two lovely boys, Big H and Little H inspire me every day.

My Educational Background

My teaching journey officially began in 2012 when I earned my secondary school mathematics teaching qualification. Previously, I taught internationally and provided private tutoring in mathematics and economics.

Our Homeschooling Path

Our homeschooling journey commenced in 2020, evolving from Waldorf kindergarten to a tailored, child-centric approach rooted in Steiner Waldorf principles alongside an Eastern, Islamic influence.

On this blog , I share curriculum support, homeschooling advice and insights into our daily life. My goal is to nurture emotionally intelligent, socially adept, physically strong, environmentally conscious and spiritually grounded individuals. You'll find:

  • Useful resources and tips
  • Practical guidance for Waldorf homeschooling
  • Inspirational stories from our journey

About Me

waldorf & mainstream teacher turned Homeschooling Parent

Since graduating from the University of York (Economics and Finance, 2009), I've accumulated substantial teaching experience. Initially, I taught mathematics and economics in mainstream secondary schools and conducted Urdu GCSE speaking exams. My journey took a fulfilling turn in 2016 when I discovered Waldorf education, leading me to obtain certifications as a Waldorf class teacher and mathematics subject specialist. At the Waldorf school, I also ran the parent-child group, which is where I developed my singing skills!
